John's Big Birthday Surprise

Hey Guys!

So I know I talked non-stop about John's 21st birthday surprise. Well, it happened yesterday and went phenominally! Here's the run-down:

I was in Boston with my mom for two days while she was at a medical conference. I went out to nice dinners and had a spa day with her! And my nails are even long enough so that I had a manicure! Shocking, right? I took the train yesterday (tues dec 8) to Worcester and John's roommate's girlfriend, Carrie, picked me up. She took me back to her apartment at WPI (where John goes to school and a block away from his fraternity) and baked a two-layer carrot cake which was delicious!

We waited around for a long time until the fraternity brothers were done with dinner. We gathered John's non-fraternity friends and went over to the fraternity house. All the brothers (who were in on the plan) had brought John into the foyer telling him that they had a surprise which was coming through the front door. They all stood in a circle around him singing birthday songs as I slipped in the back door with one of his friends holding the cake. I slipped into the front of the circle as his back was to me (as he was expecting something from the front door). The brothers told him to turn around and that his roommate had brought him a gift. So, he turns around and notices me. I think he may have pushed down about 3 brothers to get to me. He was so happy! The boys all clapped and then got in line for cake. So we had cake and John opened up some gifts (most of which were alcohol).

So, it has been about 24 hours since the surprise and I think John is still shocked! I think he will be talking about it for a while :) I asked him if he had even the slightest idea that he was coming and he said no. He did say that when he was waiting by the front door that he heard one of the brothers say, "do you remember the last time this happened" (as I surprised him by showing up for his initiation two years ago). Anyways, I just want to thank you all for your support and tolerance of hearing my surprise planning for the last 4 months. It turned out beyond my highest expectations!

I am staying with John until Saturday when I go home to TN. He is really busy as he was just elected president of his fraternity(!!!!!) so I am just hanging out with his other brothers and watching Johna's videos of BSCS non-stop. I miss and love you ALL
